Art of Derivation
An online mathematical encyclopedia devoted to Deriving and exploring mathematics beyond the classroom for high school students.
All Things Are Derivable
Mission
Our mission is to make mathematical reasoning transparent, tangible, and telling through Derivation while offering additional pathways for inquisitive and motivated students to explore mathematics with greter rigor and depth.
Project Aim
This project aims to demystify mathematical Deriving and to foster deeper curiosity through clear and careful reasoning.
Why Derivation
Throughout this project, Derivation is treated as a proper noun, referring to the process of obtain a result through meticulous, step-by-step calculation.
As the main theme of Art of Derivation, all words related to Derivation (such as Derive, Deriving) are highlighted in the main theme color. Some closely related terms, though not strictly equivalent, including Proof, Justification, and Logical Argument, all of which are integral to the idea of Derivation presented in this project.
My understanding of Derivation was mainly developed from my AP Physics C: Mechanics course, where the Free Response Questions frequently require student to Derive expressions from fundamental definitions or equations in the provided equations sheet.
